Library Tales

-A woman had her hand stuck in the Hyannis (Mass) Public Library return slot. The woman's bracelets got caught while she was returning videos. The fire department was called and coached her on how to free herself.-Boston NBC affiliate WHDH TV Sept. 11, 2007.

-King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand set up a floating library in honor of his 80th birthday this year. The "Library Ship of the King" made stops in Bangkok and six Thai provinces from August 6 through October 7 to give children the opportunity to learn about the king. The ship contained more than 1,500 books about the king's life and work, especially his economic theory of sufficiency, and welcomed as many as 500 guests a day.-Bangkok Post Aug 6.
